Just heard 'Contrary' played on R2 Drivetime with Simon Mayo. Nice to hear a different CTW track on the radio, perhaps Simon Mayo will be the new 'Wogan'.

Thank you, The man left a beautiful legacy in his music.
My 6 yr old daughter knows and sings the words to
Gaye perfectly. So another generation will hopefully carry the music on, Thanks again..

Hello,
I'm wondering if you can help me out.I'm trying to track down a copy of the track "HomeThoughts From Abroad"on CD that doesn't feature the taxi breakthrough as Clifford start singing.
I've got the original "Gaye and other Stories" CD and have just received the Virgin issue CD of "Home Thoughts" and both have these extraneous noises on them.
I know a version exists without our taxi friend, because I have a vinyl compilation on Tellydisc (featuring HTFA) which doesn't have any trace of it!
Can you point me in the right direction? Maybe Cherry Red will reissue it?
Best wishes,
Nick

I have always loved CTW's music and especially the lyrics. I still play it regularly at home, in my car and on my mp3. No matter what other new music comes along, his remains beautiful, powerful and as fresh as the day I first heard it. He is sadly missed. Mary xxx

Just got back from Witley Court where I sat on the CTW memorial bench and remembered the great man himself. We were the only ones there. It had snowed for most of the day on Thursday so everywhere was white and silent. It was so beautiful.
But....
We went to Witley baroque church and chatted to an elderly gentleman who was cleaning and maintaining the wonderful baroque church along with his wife and another lady. I mentioned the bench and he asked me who CTW was and then started to tell me how a Clifford Ward came his surgery one day many years ago and he diagnosed MS. He remembered Clifford as a very quiet, shy gentleman who would only say that he was a musician. He remembered sending him on to a more qualified consultant and had always wondered what had happened to him. He genuinely seemed quite upset with himself that he had never followed up on him but had always remembered the name.
What a small world it is.

I notice that Cherry Red are releasing Escalator next month with 'Jesus of long ago' as a bonus track.
Great news. Will buy even though I already have all the songs!
I'm going to Witley Court on Friday to see Cliff's memorial bench. My wife and I are going to Dudley for a few days revisiting where I teacher trained and lived for many years.
I bought 'Path Through The Forest' a few weeks ago. Very good but difficult to get your hands on.
Best Wishes to all who are still working to keep Clifford's music in the public eye (and ears).
David.
